What parents notice first

The confidence walks out the door with them.

Students learn how to stand, how to listen, and how to fall without getting hurt. Then they get corrected in front of the class and try again. That is where the confidence comes from.

Adults notice the same things in themselves.

Self-defense

Awareness first. Then the skill to back it up.

For kids, it starts with bully prevention: how to stand, how to use your voice, when to walk away. For teens and adults, practical skills plus the fitness and calm to use them well. The Ladies Class covers the same ground in a women-only room.

What families say.

My son started Taekwondo a year ago, they were days that he would not go into class and she was the only instructor that would coach him in. Her patience, dedication, motivation and encouragement…
★★★★★Andrea Glasgow
Instructor Thais is phenomenal. She caters each class so that each student can feel included regardless of skill level. She is patient and kind which are hard qualities to find in an instructor.
★★★★★Jacqueline Gudmand
The growth we've seen has been incredible. She's more confident than ever, both on and off the mat.
★★★★★Regiane Da Silva

Questions

Before you come in.

Is this karate?

No. We teach Taekwondo, a Korean martial art built around kicking, hand targets, forms, and board breaking. The free intro lesson is the easiest way to see the difference.

Can a two-year-old really do this?

Yes, with a parent in the room. Little Z is thirty minutes of balance, listening, and taking turns, sized for a toddler.

I have never trained. Is that a problem?

No. Most students start with zero experience, adults included. Classes are grouped by skill level.

What does the free intro lesson look like?

About ten minutes with the instructor. We introduce the martial art, see where you or your child are starting from, and check that the class is a good fit.

What do we wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Founding members get the Z Starter Kit, which includes the uniform.

Where do we go, and when are you open?

185 E Post Rd, White Plains, NY 10601. Open Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday, 10 AM to 1 PM.
